Rolled out in USA around 25th of July Google Pigeon caused quite a bit of havoc in USA. We are quite keen what impact the local search algorithms will have in Australia. We ran keyword rankings on 102 local keywords that likely to trigger local pack for Gold Coast and Brisbane on 28th of July (pre-pigeon here in Australia) to determine how our local seo is effected. We took another ranking reading on 17th August. We can see local pack decline is only around 3% which is insignificant compared to around 25% drop in the USA. So we might need to wait bit longer to see Google Pigeon being unleashed here in Australia. We will continue our study on this matter, stay tuned.
